Once a month,
Iceland arrives in your mailbox.
A letter, handmade art, and a curated collection of small things;
gathered from the edge of the world and sent straight to your door.

what is this?
This isn't a travel newsletter. It's a dispatch.

Each month, I sit down at the edge of the North Atlantic and write you a letter. . . about the light, the land, the strange and specific beauty of living somewhere most people only visit. That letter becomes a 12-page dispatch: illustrated with watercolors, pencil sketches, and field notes. Sometimes a poem. Sometimes a short piece about whatever Iceland is doing that month.

I've lived here for 6 years. I know the hrossgaukur sound that harkens the arrival of summer, the way certain landscapes look entirely different depending on when you visit, and exactly how the midnight sun feels by week three. That's what I'm sending you.

Because some things are better held than scrolled past

what's inside?
Every month:
-
A 12-page illustrated dispatch: letter, field notes, artwork, and occasional poems and short articles
-
Sometimes a QR code linking to a playlist I've curated for that month

Every three months, something extra tucked inside:
-
A mini-print of one of my watercolors or photographs (occasionally from the color extraction experiment, where I pull real pigment from Icelandic nature — lupine petals, lava rock, volcanic sand)
-
A bookmark
-
A postcard you can actually send

annual bundle

Sign up before the 5th of the month and you'll be included in that month's mail-out.
Sign up after the 5th and your first dispatch goes out the following month, which just means you have something to look forward to.
when it ships
Dispatches go out on the 25th of every month. The letter you receive will be about the month I'm living through as I write it — so if your envelope arrives in early September, it's an August dispatch. I can't write about a place before I've experienced it. That's the whole point.
a note on cost
I'm writing and making things from Iceland — which means a single stamp to anywhere outside Europe costs 530 ISK, which is roughly $4.25. Just the stamp. And quite a few of the supplies I use have to be shipped to me here first, adding shipping costs, VAT, etc.

Rather than add a separate shipping fee at checkout, I've built it into the price. What you see is what you pay. The annual bundle saves you $40, that's the only pricing variation.
What you're paying for isn't just the objects; it's the place they came from, the work behind them, and the distance they traveled to reach you.
a note on the first two dispatches
The launch is a little different. The Founding Issue covers June & July and ships by August 10th. The second dispatch covers August & most of September and ships September 25th. From October onward, dispatches ship on the 25th of every month as normal.
